Dame Stephanie “Steve” Shirley became a successful tech entrepreneur before the phrase had been invented. Back in the 70s, she created a software company staffed entirely by women, most of them stay-at-home mothers. We talk about her “densely lived” life, what inspired her business career, and the challenges of parenting a severely autistic son. Please also check out her TED Talk, “Why do ambitious women have flat heads?” (https://www.ted.com/talks/dame_stephanie_shirley_why_do_ambitious_women_have_flat_heads?language=en) and her book, “Let IT Go” (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B009VIIKTU/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1).
